Dr. Earnestine H. McGee
I am a lover of people, I am President of the Southern District Missionary Dept., 2nd Vice-President of General Missionary Dept. and pastor of Faith Temple UHC, Wilson, NC. All are of this Great United Holy Church of America, Inc. Dr. McGee has been the pastor at the church following the retirement of Dr. Lawson. Pastor McGee is best know for the many post that she has been directed to lead in the Home and Foreign Mission of the United Holy Church of America. Dr. McGee challenges the congregation by asking "Do you love the Lord?"
Pastor Emertis Dr. Equila Lawson
The original Father of the Southern District
Dr. Equilla Lawson was born February 28, 1911 to the late Ed Lawson and Hallie Daisy Lawson in Wilson County. God in His infinite wisdom called him home to eternal rest on Sunday October 4, 2009 in his home.
Dr. Lawson was a contractor, building many houses and churches throughout North Carolina, Virginia, New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and many other places.
He was also a barber.
He was married to the late Elizabeth Lawson and to this union 11 children were born.
Dr. Lawson was a loving husband and cared for his family with pride, providing a college education for all of his children and three grandchildren. In early infancy, a child predeceased him.
He was the founder, the builder and former pastor of Faith Temple United Holy Church, Wilson; the father of The United Holy Church of America, president of the Ministerial Alliance in Wilson and during his 75 years of pastoral services trained and ordained many ministers.
His is survivors are his wife, Ida L. Lawson of the home; children, Mary E. White, husband, the Rev. Donald White, of Nashville, Tenn., Ellen Strong, husband, Theodore, of Indiana, Shirley Gantt of Jamaica, N.Y., Dr. Francine Brown, husband, Glenn, of Philadelphia, Pa., Lawrence D. Lawson of Wilmington, Delaware; five step-children; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; other relatives and friends.
